Steve Bailey maintains a diverse trial and appellate practice that includes representation of both plaintiffs and defendants in commercial litigation, professional liability, and serious personal injury cases. Steve has more than 25 years of experience in representing clients in state and federal court throughout Texas and other jurisdictions. Raised in Houston, Steve received a Bachelor of Arts in Government from the University of Texas at Austin before obtaining his Juris Doctorate from Southern Methodist University School of Law, where he was an editor of the Journal of Air Law and Commerce and Chief Justice of the Criminal Defense Clinic.
Admitted to practice in Texas, the District of Columbia and various federal courts, Steve is an Associate Member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and a Fellow of the Houston Bar Foundation, as well as a member of the Houston Bar Association, the American Bar Association Litigation Section, the Commercial and Business Litigation Committee and the Professional Services Liability Litigation Committee. Prior to joining Shepherd Prewett PLLC in 2015, Steve was a partner with Cruse, Scott, Henderson & Allen, L.L.P., later Shepherd, Scott, Clawater & Houston, L.L.P., and an associate with Andrews Kurth LLP.
Throughout his career, Steve has volunteered his time and expertise through the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program and other pro bono activities. Steve has also served as a volunteer with the Houston SPCA. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Susan, occasional salt-water fishing and is a college football and basketball fan.
